Delete your Book Garden account

Book Garden is operated by Chaotic Great, LLC. Deleting a parent account also deletes its cloud family library, including its child profiles, books, goals, themes and reading preferences.

Delete in the Android app

1. Open Parents and unlock parent controls.
2. Open Parent account & sync and choose Delete parent account.
3. Confirm recent sign-in with your password or Google sign-in. Version 0.8.3 and later allow deletion before email verification. If an older version cannot complete deletion, update the app or request deletion by email.

Request deletion without the app

Email tim@getbookgarden.com from the email address used for your parent account with the subject “Delete Book Garden account.” We will verify ownership before deleting data. Do not send passwords, PINs or a child's personal information.

What remains separate

Deletion removes the authentication account, cloud family library, owned shares, friend requests and sharing permissions, and purchase references and checkout records. Server cleanup supports older clients and retries interrupted cleanup. Minimal billing and family closure records remain permanently to block delayed writes from recreating data. They contain only an account identifier (hashed for billing) and a timestamp, with no family library, email address or purchase token. In-app deletion also removes that account's cache and account backup files on the device used for deletion. Guest libraries, user-exported files and offline copies on other devices remain separate. Remove those files or clear app data on the other devices as needed. Provider backups and operational logs may follow Google's service policies.

Account deletion does not cancel Google Play subscriptions. Cancel an existing subscription separately in Google Play.
